Direct access is a quick way to begin physical therapy so you can start feeling better and begin your recovery process quicker. Virginia law allows patients to receive PT without a referral.
If your health insurance carrier covers direct access, you can receive up to 30 days of treatment without a referral if the initial PT evaluation demonstrates medical necessity.
